N°02 The approach

Four soft pillars,
one new you.

Weight is never just weight. NYBEG is built on a four-part care framework — because the procedure is the easy part. Everything else is the work, and we walk every step of it with you.
N° 01

Reshape the body.

A single endoscopic visit reduces stomach volume by roughly seventy percent — the physiologic foundation for everything that follows.

N° 02

Rebuild nutrition.

Registered dietitians design a phased plan built around the way you actually live — your travel, your evenings, your obligations.

N° 03

Reclaim movement.

Coaches meet you where you are and quietly build durable movement into the rest of your week — never aggressively, never punitively.

N° 04

Restore the self.

The hardest work is unseen. Behavioral coaching, peer sessions, direct access to your physician — for as long as you need them.

NYBEG / EditorialFeature · N°03The Procedure, Explained

The stomach,
quietly
redrawn —
no surgery.

ESG·~45 minutes·Same-day

You arrive in the morning. You're sedated. A flexible endoscope is passed through the mouth into the stomach — there is nothing on your skin. No incision. No cut. No scar.

“A new stomach, drawn from within. No surgery. Just a quieter way to feel full.”

A specialized suturing platform then gathers and stitches the stomach into a narrow sleeve — about a third of its original volume. The whole thing takes around forty-five minutes. By afternoon, you're home. Within forty-eight hours, you're back at your desk, your gym, your dinner table.

N°04 Our physicians

The best
in the field.

“We're gastroenterologists first. That means we treat a person — not a number on a scale, not a procedure, not a checkbox on a chart.”

NYBEG is led by world-class endoscopists — physicians trained at Harvard, Columbia, and New York University. Our founding partner is a physician who pioneered the field of bariatric endoscopy.

They came together around one conviction: no patient should have to choose between weekly injections forever and major surgery. Every procedure, every nutrition plan, every quiet hour in the suite is built around that idea.

N°05 What we do

Four ways through.
No surgery, ever.

We offer the full spectrum of endoscopic weight care — primary procedures for first-time patients, and revisions for those who have regained weight after past bariatric surgery. Performed by board-certified advanced endoscopists, in our private suite.

N°06 The comparison

A weekly shot,
or a one-time hour?

GLP-1 medications have changed obesity care, and we prescribe them when they fit. But they have real trade-offs that bariatric endoscopy doesn't share. Here is the honest side-by-side.
Option AWeekly injections

GLP-1 medications

Ozempic · Wegovy · Mounjaro · Zepbound
HowA weekly injection, ongoing. Slows gastric emptying and suppresses appetite through the GLP-1 receptor pathway.
ResultRoughly 10–22% total body weight loss while on the medication, depending on agent and dose.
If you stopMost patients regain ~⅔ of the lost weight within a year of stopping. The drug is the foundation — and it has to stay there.
Cost$1,000–$1,500 / month retail. $12,000–$18,000 / year, indefinitely. Insurance coverage is narrowing.
Side effectsNausea, GI upset, fatigue, muscle loss, gastroparesis, gallbladder issues. Pancreatitis and thyroid concerns remain under study.
Body compUp to 40% of weight lost can be lean muscle — a known concern in long-term GLP-1 use.
EffortA weekly injection. Refills. Pharmacy supply. Insurance prior auths. Indefinitely.

Endoscopic weight care

ESG · Gastric Balloon · Revisions
HowA one-time, 45-minute endoscopic procedure. No injections, no daily routine. The stomach is physically reshaped from within.
ResultApproximately 20% total body weight loss at one year — sustained, not refilled.
If you stopThere is nothing to stop. The anatomy stays. Long-term studies show durable weight loss at five-plus years.
CostA one-time investment, including 12 months of concierge follow-up. Often less than 18 months of GLP-1s.
Side effectsMild nausea and discomfort for 1–3 days. No long-term medication exposure. No injections.
Body compWeight loss is paired with structured nutrition and movement coaching — designed to preserve lean mass.
EffortOne morning in the suite. A week of recovery. Twelve months of support to make it last.
The honest answer

GLP-1s are powerful — and for the right patient, they are the right call. But for most of the people we see, an hour, once, beats a shot, weekly, forever.

Statements above reflect generally published outcomes from peer-reviewed literature and FDA labeling. Individual results vary. GLP-1 medications and bariatric endoscopy each carry specific indications, risks, and contraindications — your physician will guide the right choice during your consultation.

N°09 Honest answers

No marketing.
Just real answers.

You have read everything online before picking up the phone — we know. Here are the questions our patients are actually asking. For anything else, the team is one email away.
ESG is most often recommended for patients with a BMI of 30 or higher, or a BMI between 27 and 29.9 paired with an obesity-related condition — type 2 diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, or fatty liver disease. The full answer comes from a consultation; there are nuances no website can capture.
